Songbird Research

Our long-term monitoring of breeding songbird numbers at Loddington has revealed considerable changes in response to our changes in management. From a baseline in 1992, bird numbers doubled when a game management system was put in place up to 2001. Numbers then declined again when predator control, and later, winter feeding were withdrawn. As well as our monitoring of bird numbers, we have carried out more intensive research on individual species.
