An ID day for farmland birds

YellowhammerDo you know a yellowhammer from a corn bunting? These inspiring training days will provide the perfect opportunity to hone your bird ID skills, learn their individual calls and become an expert on the birds all around you and the habitats they need.

Learn about their ecology, habitat and food requirements and the practical ways to integrate management for these species into a modern farming business. Topics will include:

  • Reasons behind the decline of farmland birds
  • Individual species recognition, including song
  • Individual species requirements, including nesting habitat, summer and winter food preferences
  • Targeting the Environmental Stewardship schemes
