GWCT’s Salmon & Trout Research Centre open day

Date: 5 May 2012
Venue:  East Stoke, Wareham, Dorset

An outstanding opportunity to look around ‘the most instrumented river laboratory in the UK’. The Centre has the longest run of data on adult salmon migration in Europe and you will be able to see the Fluvarium and the array of other equipment used to count the fish.

The visit will take place during the smolt migration period so the smolt monitoring equipment will be in operation during the tour. GWCT scientists will also be on hand to guide the tour and explain the research being carried out at the Centre.

The day includes a small team of AAPGAI instructors giving casting demonstrations casting tuition, as well as fly dressing demonstrations courtesy of  Mr. Gary Champion.

Course fee:  £15.00 per person and  includes refreshments, lunch and VAT.

Please call Lynda Ferguson on 01425 651013 to book a place.
