Find out how to fulfil your land's potential for the benefit of game and wildlife.  On these regional one-day courses, our team of advisors will convert our research into practical information on game, fish and wildlife management techniques.  The courses are hosted on selected farms and estates that illustrate 'best practice'.

Game management days

Game Managment Days are priced at £60 per person including VAT, unless otherwise stated.  One-day course topics include:

Predator control – the law, best practice and practical considerations

The past few years have seen an ever increasing complexity in the licensing and legal regulations governing predator control techniques and the Animal Welfare Act (2006) has thrown up new questions. To address this, Grouse Technical Services has designed a series of one day courses which seek to ensure that predator control is carried out according to all the relevant legal requirements and best practice codes, in a way that minimises attempted prosecution and, should it occur, provide the best defence in court.  

Each course covers the legal aspects, the methods employed including equipment required and best practice, practical hints and tips and an outdoor demonstration.  At the end there is a short test which if passed will result in a Certificate of Attendance. 

The three modules are:

Bespoke certified training courses on predator control can be organised for groups of gamekeepers and other professionals. These cover the very latest developments in snare, corvid and tunnel trap use, covering the best practice and legal requirements.   Course Fees £60 per person inc. VAT
