Abstract

The effect of the pyrethroid insecticide deltamethrin upon the foraging behaviour of the cereal aphid parasitoid Aphidius rhopalosiphi (DeStefaniPerez) was investigated. Preliminary results using honeydew on filter paper discs suggests that the insecticide prevents the wasp locating the honeydew patch. If in contact with the honeydew and the insecticide, the wasp takes flight earlier than when only honeydew is present.
