Thelveton Estate, current holders of the Norfolk Silver Partridge Trophy, have achieved an impressive increase in grey partridges from 5 pairs 10 years ago to 112 pairs in spring 2012. Headkeeper Adam Johnson will be on hand to describe how targeted predation control and spring feeding has enabled grey partridges to flourish alongside a significant pheasant and red-leg partridge shoot situated outside the core grey partridge areas of Norfolk
Sir Rupert and family will describe how environmental stewardship and a mixed cropping regime provides year round habitat for grey partridges.
Advisors and Scientists from GWCT will be present to help answer questions and there will be updates on grey partridge news, latest research and count information. The estate tour will be followed by refreshments and a raffle.
