The launch of the biggest and most important race ever

The GWCT is radio-tagging 10,000 salmon at its new Research station on the River Frome.  Each one costs £30 to tag and we need £300,000 to cover this vital research.

For the first time,  the tag is able to record when  the smolt goes out to sea, when it comes back and also how also big it is. 

A race with 10,000 runners and riders

The fish will return in 2011 and the biggest fish to return will win its “owner” a significant prize.  In the meantime, owners will be able to watch the comings and goings of the fish via regular updates on FieldsportsChannel.tv.
