CLA Game Fair 2010

CLA Game Fair 2009With July almost upon us, final preparations are underway for our participation at the CLA Game Fair 2010. Held this year from 23-25 July at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire, the world’s ‘biggest celebration of the countryside and country sports’ expects to welcome over 136,000 visitors and more than 900 exhibitors.

As one of the longest-standing and largest exhibitors among them, we have something of a reputation to uphold − and this year we certainly won’t disappoint. In fact, hosting a range of activities from advisory sessions to cookery demonstrations, there will be something to engage everyone.

Visitors to our stand will be welcomed by members of our advisory and research teams who will walk and talk you through our displays. Updates on our established woodcock, pheasant, salmon and uplands projects will be presented. The team will also be discussing our sustainable farming work and how this contributes to the Campaign for the Farmed Environment. As well as profiling our most recent research on restoring lapwing populations, we will also share the results of our long-running project to restore water vole numbers on the River Monnow. Incorporating competitions and interactive displays, the research area will be an entertaining way to learn about our work.

New to the stand in 2010, an archery display run by Adrian Caddy of ACA Archery, invites you to challenge a friend to a one-on-one action target contest or take a shot at 3D figures. Leading game chef, Georgie Besterman, will be running a cookery demonstration that blends tradition with the new. Spectators can learn how to make (and may even get to taste) unusual delicacies such as pheasant fajita. Accompanied by refreshments from ClinkClink and The Baraka Catering Company, we guarantee that no one will go hungry.

We will also be marking our 80th Anniversary in style with three exclusive members’ receptions. We warmly invite all of our members to come and join us on our stand.
