Members of Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFC) will be joining conservation and farming experts to enhance their understanding and skills in precision arable farming.

There are still places on courses in South Dalton, Yorkshire on Thursday 25th February, Fordingbridge, Hampshire on Friday 26th February and Loddington, Leicestershire on 14th March.

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust’s (GWCT) third Big Farmland Bird Count (BFBC) is now complete and the results are flooding in!

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust is running two half-day courses at Bankfoot, near Perth, on Friday 18 March covering corvid control (including vicarious liability), and tunnel trapping.

Some spaces remain for GWCT Rat Control for Gamekeepers training courses in Angus and Dumfries.

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) has contributed to a new report showing that simplification of agricultural landscapes can reduce natural pest control.

Dr Dave Parish, senior scientist with the GWCT, was out in the grounds of Scone Palace, Perth, the site of the GWCT Scottish Game Fair, to see what bird numbers were making their presence seen and heard.

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust’s (GWCT) third Big Farmland Bird Count (BFBC) is now under way, with farmers across the UK starting to count their resident birds. The GWCT is encouraging all farmers and landowners to take part in the nationwide survey.

The Big Farmland Bird Count (BFBC) identification days are in full swing with only a few days to run. Most events are now sold out, but there are a handful of places remaining on the South Wales ID Day.

The weather might be soggy but the time has come to start counting those birds! The GWCT is encouraging all farmers and landowners to take part in the nationwide survey of our declining farmland birds.
