Katrina, who was formerly Head of PR and Education for the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) in Scotland and is now Head of Communications for Bidwells in Scotland based in the firm’s Perth office, says:

“I set out with the Captain Partridge concept several years ago to try to help bridge the education gap between children, conservation and countryside, to make learning, reading and listening to stories fun – and also to raise money from sales of the books towards the work of GWCT in Scotland.”

Katrina will be launching her new book, which has been sponsored by Muirden Energy, on Friday 1 June at 11.30 in The Nest marquee

Talks, readings and ‘conversations’ throughout the weekend are hosted by, among others, Linda Mellor, Louise Gray and Guy Grieve with masses of interesting topics covered including Scottish folklore, myths and legends, rewilding, ocean exploration, barn owls and curlew and much more in a programme comprising some 40 separate events.

Iona Laing, representing the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust, said:

“Listen to the Land is a fitting theme for our Scottish Game Fair weekend with talks and book readings for all ages. Our speakers will be delving into absorbing topics, encouraging bold conversations and provoking thought and discussion about land-use and conservation-related issues in our changing world.”

The full programme for the storytelling event is available here with ticket details. Note that entry to Listen to the Land events is supplementary to ticket entry to the GWCT Scottish Game Fair.
