GWCT Scotland Macnab Raffle

Scotland Macnab

GWCT Scotland are delighted to announce a raffle offering a once in a lifetime opportunity.

We have teamed up with Dalhousie Estate in Angus and John Dickson & Son to provide an opportunity of TWO Macnabs using equipment provided by John Dickson & Son.

Dalhousie EstatesThe Dalhousie Estates have been in the ownership of the Earls of Dalhousie for almost 250 years and at one time extended to around 150,000 acres in the counties of Angus and Midlothian. The present estates at Brechin Castle, Edzell and Invermark, all in Angus, cover some 55,000 acres ranging from the fertile agricultural land in the vale of Strathmore to the heather moorland and mountains of Invermark, where the hills rise to 3,000 feet at Mount Keen, Scotland’s most easterly ‘Munro’. It is a simply stunning part of Scotland and an ideal setting to test your skills in bagging a Macnab.

John Dickson and SonThe firm of John Dickson & Son was established in Edinburgh in 1820 and today is the oldest gunmaker in Scotland. The company gained fame through its round-action gun, a uniquely Scottish trigger plate mechanism that is admired by avid sportsmen for its ingenuity, strength, elegance and balance. The company has grown tremendously over the past two centuries and now incorporates a number of the other renowned Scottish gun and rifle makers. As well as their famous round-action gun, John Dickson & Son will also provide an Alex Martin fishing rod.

To ensure the raffle winners are fed, watered and rested for the challenge, they will also enjoy a night’s accommodation including bed and breakfast in the Panmure Arms Hotel in Edzell for two people.

Full details of the raffle are:

  • The opportunity for two Macnabs on 28 August 2027 with the head keeper and under keeper of Dalhousie Estate. (The Macnabs will be run simultaneously)
  • The use of a Dickson round-action shotgun and Alex Martin fishing rod on both Macnab attempts provided by John Dickson & Son.
