The GWCT conducts a number of long-term surveys into the survival and abundance of gamebirds in the UK, combining new records with numbers logged in gamebooks of estates going back to the 19th Century and even before. This wealth of data enables us to spot long-term trends in how changes in land use and wildlife management are affecting our wildlife.
Our extensive database, coupled with recent advances in information technology, allows us to perform sophisticated analyses with our Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
