Managing woodland for butterflies, game and other wildlife

The day will usually consist of a walk on the chosen estate to discuss woodland management for pheasants, butterflies and wildlife in general. We will discuss coppicing, ride clearing, skylighting and take a look at grants and how to create markets for timber.

Discussing managing farmland and woodland for game and wildlife. We will look at how the estate combines a variety of aims including arable farming, game management for pheasant and partridge, woodland management for woodfuel and habitats for butterflies, farmland birds and other wildlife.
