SAMARCH project leads to GWCT boat envy

The Partnership agreement with the Environment Agency is proving to be very beneficial for discussing ideas and for gaining the various permissions etc. that the project requires for the SAMARCH sampling campaign.

Recently that collaboration has taken an even more practical role. With the GWCT boat in dock for some repairs, the SW and Wessex EA marine teams have assisted GWCT staff in checking the acoustic tag monitoring equipment in the Tamar estuary and Poole harbour. Sea conditions were not perfect, which led to some exciting times retrieving the equipment, but all the routine checks and downloads were carried out. The GWCT team were also left with serious ‘boat envy’!
