In the heart of what is said to be Britain’s best loved National Park, The Royal Oak Exmoor is situated amongst some of the highest regarded shooting estates in the South West.
The Royal Oak Exmoor was originally a 12th Century Farmhouse and has a fascinating history. Today it’s a traditional Country Inn with AA 4 star accreditation that offers the highest quality Dining and Accommodation for groups throughout the autumn and winter seasons.
We have been accommodating Winter Field Sport Teams for more than 40 years and many of our teams return year after with some visiting several times in a season.
Dining
We have a Private Lounge which can be reserved for exclusive use and dinner can be taken here or in one of our other private dining rooms.
Dining options can be tailored to meet our guest’s requirements from Traditional Inn food through to full Fine Dining experiences with several menu options for a Host to select from.
Our team of full time Chefs cook all our meals to order using only the best available locally sourced fresh produce.
Accommodation
Our 10 en-suite rooms at the Royal Oak Exmoor Hotel are all furnished and equipped to the same high standard with the luxury extras to make our guest’s stay as comfortable as possible. All bedrooms have Freesat TV/ DVD players and direct dial telephones. There is free and unlimited WiFi access throughout the Hotel including all bedrooms.
Every en-suite bathroom has a power shower over bath with luxurious white towels, bath sheets and toiletries. For the best possible sleep experience we only use the finest quality Alpaca Duvets and Pillows made with the highest grade Egyptian Cottons.
Our 10 bedrooms comprise 6 King Size, 2 Double and 2 Twin rooms providing a maximum capacity of 20 guests. Exclusive Use can be guaranteed if requested and only the rooms occupied are charged for.
Facilities
We have a private Car Park, with adequate spaces for full teams, from which there is direct access to our heated Gun Room which is fitted with dehumidifiers for drying wet clothing, boots and gun slips as well as cabinets for secure storage of guns while our guests stay with us.
