Stats prove new Morning Briefing email is a hit

By Rob Beeson, Online Marketing Officer

We recently launched our new Morning Briefing email for those who wish to receive the latest conservation and fieldsports news in their inbox first thing each morning.

The way it works is that Emma, our new Communications Officer, scours the newspapers, internet and social media for stories that our members would find of interest and then I compile them in an easy-to-read email, sending it to those who have subscribed.

Morning Briefing

We invited our members and weekly newsletter subscribers to sign up for the service and many have taken the opportunity to do so.

One aspect of my job at the GWCT is to monitor opening rates and clickthrough rates (% of people who click on a link within an email after they open it) for each email campaign and newsletter we send.

I have been very pleased to see that since we launched the Morning Briefing we have seen opening and clickthrough rates that are more than double that of other emails we send (and our figures for those other emails are generally very good – well above industry standards).

This means that recipients are finding the emails both useful and informative. Perhaps most significantly, the opening and clcikthrough rates have remained high since we launched on 2nd November.

If you’re a GWCT member you can sign up for the Morning Briefing email here and if you are not a member, you can sign up for a FREE 5-day trial here.
