studioEAST Chartered Architects

studioEAST Chartered Architects, based in Perth, are proud supporters of the GWCT. As champions of the built environment and rural economy the practice works closely with landowners and their agents to help deliver and maintain a successful and sustainable built environment.

studioEAST is a multi-disciplinary practice of architects operating throughout Scotland. The practice carries expertise in private housing and commercial projects and works alongside clients to help make the best use of their land and property.

1

High quality design and management of projects is achieved through establishing a close understanding of a client’s brief and long-term ambitions. This is key to the practice’s ethos and a close working relationship of clients, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders is encouraged.

Working within both traditional and contemporary boundaries, projects can range from small to large and each with its own value and importance. Whatever the size or complexity, every project requires a unique approach to be successful.

The studioEAST portfolio includes a wide variety of project types. These range from small domestic projects and new-build housing to commercial projects and complex renovations.

  • New Build Houses
  • Extensions & Renovations
  • Listed Buildings & Conservation
  • Sports & Leisure
  • Education & Schools
  • Hotel, Bar & Restaurant
  • Commercial & Industrial
  • Holiday Accommodation
  • Garden Rooms & Huts

Design for renewable energy is a common approach for the practice. Many new build and renovation projects seek to benefit from both the financial and environmental gains of Ground/Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV, Solar Thermal and Bio-mass technologies.  studioEAST works closely with industry specialists to encourage these technologies as part of a design solution.

studioEAST is at the fore with the latest industry technology and standards. The practice has taken steps to implement BIM (Building Information Modelling), developing projects using 3D and Virtual Reality technology to encourage collaborative, insightful working.

Richard Taylor, Director and Architect says,

“Every project presents its own specific brief and unique criteria. We strive to interpret this to not only design a scheme that looks exceptional and sits well within its context, but also provides a robust economical solution. We look forward to a continued close relationship with the GWCT, its members and associates.”
