Wales to hold Big Farmland Bird Count training days

GWCT wales have teamed up with several farmers to bring you our Big Farmland Bird Count Training days.

Matt Goodall, GWCT Wales Advisor for Wales will be giving a presentation on each farm after coffee, to illustrate what birds we could be seeing during the morning and what more can be done to encourage more birds at this time of the year. The idea is to record the effects of the amazing conservation work carried out on so many farms in Wales that needs shouting about. We will then take a walk to see what is about. Binoculars and wellies are advised.

The 2020 Big Farmland Bird Count will take place from 7-16 February.

Taking part in the Big Farmland Bird Count is simple. On a day between 7th and 16th February spend about 30 minutes recording the species and number of birds seen on one particular area of the farm.
