Organisers of The GWCT Scottish Game Fair sponsored by NFU Mutual have seen an unprecedented surge in both ticket sales and exhibition stand bookings after Nicola Sturgeon revealed the roadmap to Level 0 in Scotland today.

The three-day outdoor event, which will be held at Scone Palace in Perthshire from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 September, is expected to attract over 30,000 visitors. Now in its 33rd year, the weekend is a true celebration of conservation and the countryside, while raising vital funds for wildlife conservation science.

Perthshire Chamber of Commerce’s Chief Executive, Victoria Unite, commented that the GWCT Scottish Game Fair has a hugely positive impact on the region, bringing millions of pounds to the local economy. “Now more than ever before, we need to support large-scale events like this to ensure their future as year on year they bring much-needed visitors to rural Highland communities. Not only do our members rely on them to reach new audiences, they also provide an annual opportunity for people from all over Scotland to see each other face-to-face. The GWCT Scottish Game Fair is the ultimate meeting of the clans and this year will be better than ever following the hiatus of Covid.”

James Gower, Show Director commented: “This news is what everyone has been waiting for in Scotland. It has given brands additional and renewed confidence that the event will go ahead at full capacity and are now clearly happy to commit to attending. Our team will be working round the clock to respond to everyone that has made enquiries about exhibiting so please bear with us.”

Rory Kennedy, Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust Scotland Director added “After a gap year The GWCT Scottish Game Fair will provide a vital platform for networking, doing business and aiding important debate. The mood music around the event is astonishing and we are anticipating significant attendance from our membership and stakeholders. As usual The GWCT will be there in force with informative and educational content and we look forward to welcoming familiar faces and new friends in September. All of this activity contributes to the vital fundraising and research carried out by The GWCT.”
