We are pleased to report that via Holts November auction close to £15,000 was raised for the GWCT, thanks to the generosity of donors using the Holts Charity and Legacy Lots Programme.
The Holts November main auction was highly successful, exceeding 90% sold. It is heartening to see that demand for fine quality firearms and accessories is still so strong. Rumours of the death of the side-by-side market seems to have no basis in fact when one looks at the results: 97% of all sidelocks and boxlocks sold and many of them sold well. The main auction and sealed bid sale gave a combined total of a little over £2.28 million, with nearly 50% of lots sold will be staying in the UK.
We are continuing to work with HOLTS Auctioneers to help provide a solution to what to do with your guns and shooting accessories when the time has come to retire from shooting, or you are just considering making a little more room in your gun cabinet. You can now do this whilst also helping to raise funds for GWCTthrough the sale of your guns and accessories.
HOLTS will handle the entire transaction, from collection to sale, and the hammer price of your items will be donated on your behalf to GWCT. There are no fees for you as the vendor for this service. HOLTS will also help you navigate the licensing from the transfer and will make the entire process as easy as possible.
Get your free valuation this January
Holts hold regular valuation days throughout the UK, there is one at GWCT head office in Fordingbridge, Hampshire on the 16th January 2023. The days are hosted by members of Holts staff, who will be able to tell you something about the item you have brought along. A Holts spokesperson said “We are always keen to hear of family or related provenance; it is often of interest and can have a highly beneficial impact on the value. We will then suggest a realistic catalogue estimate and reserve (if you are minded to sell) together with a likely hammer price.”
