Woodland creation and management: And the wider benefits of trees for your land

Join the Allerton Project, Forestry Commission, Woodland Trust and Agricapture to talk trees!

This event will highlight to landowners and land managers the financial and other benefits that trees and woodlands can provide; demonstrate some of the key considerations around creating, protecting and managing woodlands and highlight the range of support and funding available.

To learn more, please join us for this event on the 15th February for a walk, talks and lunch. 

The day will include a walk around the Allerton Project with Andrew Down and David Hooton from the Forestry Commission, Stuart Holm from the Woodland Trust, and Alex Keeble and Chris Stoate from the Allerton Project. We’ll cover:

  • Creating woodlands for air and water quality
  • Woodland creation and management for game
  • Deer management
  • Agroforestry
  • The benefits of woodland and hedges for carbon capture and biodiversity
  • Grants available for woodland creation, including the Forestry Commission’s flagship grant, the England Woodland Creation Offer (EWCO)
