Exciting GWCT Scotland Events coming up in April & May

We are delighted to announce a number of upcoming events and hope that you will take the opportunity to attend and catch up with what we’ve been doing recently.

The events are not exclusive to members so please do invite friends along and we hope that once attended they’ll have a better understanding of the important work we do and will think about becoming a member themselves.

Tuesday 18th April – Pie & Pint Evening at Gather, Laggan, Gatehouse of Fleet, DG7 2ES, Dumfries & Galloway, 18.00, £10 (Limited places available)
The GWCT team will be on hand to provide an update on our vital work as well as wider policy matters that may impact you. These are designed for members and practitioners alike and non-members are more than welcome. As it says on the tin, a pie and pint will be provided during the event for what will be a chance for a relaxed and friendly get together. More info & booking >

Monday 24th April – ‘Art at Auchnerran’ Gallery Opening, 17.00 (Limited places available)
Rory Kennedy, Director GWCT Scotland, invites you to come to the opening of our new art exhibit at the GWCT’s demonstration farm at Auchnerran. Artists on display are Ashley Boon, Emily Crookshank, Selina Wilson, Rosie Playfair, Clare Brownlow, Angus Grant and Alistair Makinson. All works of art will be for sale and it is hoped that some of the artists will be attending the event to meet, talk to and inspire guests There will also be a marked route for you to walk around the farm to see some of the work being done and hopefully a few nesting lapwing and curlew. Tuesday 25th April – Auchnerran Shoot Walk & BBQ, 16.45, £15
Marlies Nicolai, Auchnerran’s shoot manager, will host the walk and will focus on how Auchnerran is developing into a profitable hill edge farm with a rich abundance of game and wildlife. The tour will look at game crop selection, wading bird research, predator management and sustainable farming practices. Following the tour guests are invited to enjoy a BBQ at the farm. Art in our new exhibit will also be available to view on the evening. More info & booking >
