Ladies Day at Loddington

This is a wonderful opportunity for ladies to enjoy a fun and educational shoot day at the GWCT’s Allerton Project in Leicestershire. This fascinating research site is run as a released bird shoot but with a strong emphasis on encouraging wild game and thriving biodiversity through good game and agricultural management. The shoot includes a variety of habitats such as ancient woodlands, wetlands and stewardship-funded wild bird and pollen and nectar mixes all of which achieve an excellent demonstration of the benefits good game management can deliver. This work is presented to over 3,000 visitors annually through guided walks and talks and guns on the day will get the opportunity to see Allerton’s work in action and ask plenty of questions.

Approximate bag of 100 pheasants. All shots must have their own gun, licence and insurance and be experienced. Less confident guns can be happily accommodated provided enough notice is given but all must be competent.

  • Shoot date: 26th October 2019
  • Guide £900.00

Salmon fishing for 2 days and 2 rods on the famous River Dee

2 day’s fishing for 2 rods on the Woodend beat of the River Dee. You have to experience fishing at Woodend to appreciate how special a beat it is. Secluded, private, and one of the Dee beats which can genuinely claim to fish in all water heights.

The considerable fall of the river between the Garden and Boat Hole pools gives marvellous streamy water at low levels, and when the river rises then perhaps the Long pool - fished off the bank - is one of the most enjoyable casts on the river.

There are 11 named pools at Woodend, all different in character.

  • The fishing to be taken by mutual arrangement but is likely only to be available in February, March, August or September 2020.
  • By kind donation of Julian McHardy of Woodend Estate
  • Guide £400.00
