I will always consider myself to be a country bumpkin through and through, having grown up in the rural and beautiful countryside of Cheshire, which I've called home for 38 years. Over the past six years, I've been lucky enough to have grown not one but two successful businesses from scratch, both of which I believe are valued assets within the local area and provide dedicated loyalty and a hard working ethic to the villages and venues that surround my home.
The first small business I own is a domestic cleaning service called The House Fairy. This offers regular and high standard cleaning of clients homes, offices and BnBs on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis. I use top quality products from Astonish to achieve the best results. These plant based and biodegradable cleaning products are made in the UK and shipped from their Yorkshire factory in 100% recycled plastic and recyclable bottles. I chose to use this company as not only am I a huge believer in supporting local and UK businesses, but also because they stand for vegan products and cruelty free to animals. With no harsh chemicals but fast working formulas, I save on water, rinsing and flushing, benefacting our water ways and ecosystems throughout.
My second small business, The Flower Fairy, is of a more creative side of nature where I specialise in dried flowers for all types of occasions big or small. I make creations for Birthdays, Valentines, Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween, Christmas and cover all seasonal aspects of growth being from Spring right through into Winter. Predominantly, due to my small cottage garden, I source most of my dried flowers from UK farms, again supporting our industries in this country, but also looking at supporting our British farmers from seed to produce. All my dried flowers used are grown, harvested and dried onsite by local 4th generation farmers and fully 100% biodegradable which is now hugely asked for to help carry a very low carbon foot print. For my clients weddings, I use dried flower petals instead of paper confetti, again to nurture our environment. Dried petals are biodegradable and require limited resources meaning no mature trees are felled to produce paper in heavy processing mills. The petals are only harvested during Summer. The months leading up to Christmas tend to be very busy as its when orders are taken for Christmas Wreath creations and deliveries. These are done using 30 cm natural grapevine wreaths with mini dried flower bunches tied around in a professional manner forming a full wreath with decorative ribbons and sprigs of cinnamon and oranges. Packaged up neatly in recycled boxes then delivered to little front doors at the end of frosted drives over the festive season.
Take a look at what I offer and please feel free to get in touch. I will be more than happy to help out should you like any more information. Thankyou. Katrina.
