A half-day on-farm meeting on how to site, establish and manage the crops and cover that get farmland birds and game through the winter ‘hungry gap’.

Farmer Annie Brown and farm manager David Ellin will show us the HLS mixes, margins and field corners on farm designed to get the birds through the winter ‘hungry gap’. Discussion of supplementary feeding at a crucial time of year for birds. With Peter Thompson of Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust; Bruce Fowkes of RSPB; Ginnie Griffiths, seed specialist for Bartholomews; Sue Simpson of Natural England with the latest on the new Stewardship and Greening; and Sussex CFE Coordinator Prim Duplessis. Followed by a buffet lunch.
