Sir Max Hastings: How Europe Went to War in 1914

Sir Max Hastings will be talking in this centenary year under the title: ‘How Europe Went to War in 1914’. His new book Catastrophe, about the continent’s descent into disaster, has already sold almost 200,000 copies in Britain alone, and has been widely applauded as the pre-eminent recent narrative of the outbreak of war. South East & Wessex Grey Partridge Group Meeting

Location: Rotherfield Park Estate, Hampshire
Date: 14 October 2014 Time: 2:00PM to 4:00PM

A part of the Rotherfield estate has been dedicated to the conservation of wild game, including the grey partridge and other farmland wildlife. To this cause there has been a wide range of habitat improvements implemented. We will look at in detail these different habitats such as conservation headlands, beetle banks and wild bird seed mixes and discuss the best management practices for grey partridge.  Read more

Shooting tuition and clay shooting, and a game management tour - taking in predator control including a tunnel trapping competition, feeding, habitat, pheasant poults in a release pen and duck flight ponds, and preparing carcases for the table - for 12-15-year-olds.  Read more
