The GWCT Cheshire Committee invite you to a GWCT Social & Shoot Walk at Rossendale. A unique estate showcasing biodiversity and wildlife conservation by design.
Please join us for an evening walk around Rossendale (followed by supper) and see the commitment to the environment in practice with GWCT Advisor Matt Goodall and Richard May, meet the new GWCT Cheshire chairman Richard Goodwin, celebrate the end of lockdown and have fun.
Rossendale was 100 acres of open farmland and - over 25 years and after planting thousands of trees/bushes/hedges - the May family have created conservation opportunities combined with best shooting practice - there are now eight days of spectacular pheasant and duck providing 150 bird days. We will walk around the 4/5 drives, 20 ponds and the woods around Long Ridge to see ponds created with fenced areas, trees, rushes, scrub in the valley and game crops.
