Taylor’s Port is delighted to announce that from the 20th of October 2025, they will be collaborating with The Secret Bottle Shop in Hereford to help raise funds for the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT), a leading UK charity conducting conservation science to enhance the British countryside for public benefit.
In order to support the GWCT’s great work, The Secret Bottle Shop has set up dedicated Taylor’s Port x Game & Wildlife Trust page on their website for GWCT supporters to purchase selected Taylor’s Port wines. Taylor’s Port will donate 5% of the retail sales value of all the port’s purchased from the dedicated page. For the donation to be made, the code GAME must be entered by the customer at the checkout, or voiced by the customer when placing a telephone order.
Lisa O’Donnell, Director of Fladgate & Fortified Wines says: “We have worked with The Secret Bottle Shop for many years, and we are pleased to be able to collaborate with one of our key customers to help bring attention to GWCT and a cause that is very close to Taylor’s Port. Taylor’s is a brand rooted in tradition and driven by sustainability, and we proudly support initiatives that safeguard our rural heritage, while sharing our deep appreciation for exceptional Port with those who cherish the countryside.”
Nick von Westenholz, Chief Executive of the GWCT says: “We are so pleased to have the support of both Taylor’s Port and Secret Bottle Shop in raising money for the GWCT. For over 90 years we have been researching and developing game and wildlife management techniques, and we use our research to provide training and advice on how best to improve the biodiversity of the countryside. All of this hard work needs to be funded, and we are very grateful to everyone who is helping us to achieve our aims.”
Edward Symonds, Founder & Director from The Secret Bottle Shop says: “The Secret Bottle Shop is an independent wine and spirits business based in Herefordshire, run by a small but dedicated team with a shared passion for exceptional wines and spirits. We are delighted to be part of this exciting initiative. Being rooted in rural Herefordshire, we have strong ties to our local farming community, making this collaboration a perfect fit for us.”
Taylor’s Port has partnered with GWCT for the past two years, bringing the finest Port to GWCT events. The two companies share many common goals, including the use of scientific research to underpin sustainable conservation practice, the conservation of landscape, habitat and wildlife and improving the biodiversity of the countryside, to name just a few. Taylor’s themselves run a sustainable vineyard model, which recognises the importance of interspersing areas of vine with natural vegetation and woodland to protect natural diversity and resilience.

About Taylor’s:
Taylor's is one of the first historic Port wine lodges, having been established in 1692. A family company since its foundation, it has been dedicated exclusively to the production of high quality Port wines, from the planting of the vine and harvesting the grapes for fermentation, to the ageing and bottling of the various styles of Port wine. The family's commitment to the future of Port wine is also demonstrated in its determination to preserve and, where appropriate, improve the unique environmental, social and economic aspects of the Douro region through the promotion of sustainable viticulture.
Taylor’s is mainly recognised as a benchmark for Vintage Port, its classic Vintages attracting the highest scores and auction prices. Known for their elegance, longevity and distinctive scented character, they are blended from the finest wines of the firm’s own ‘quintas’ or estates: Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta da Terra Feita, Quinta do Junco, Quinta da Cas Nova and Quinta da Eira Velha.
The house created L.B.V. (Late Bottled Vintage), a style which the company pioneered and of which it continues to be the principal producer; it also pioneered Extra Dry White Port when it invented Chip Dry, and also launched the first Single Quinta Vintage Port.
Taylor’s is also recognized as the most important producer of Aged Tawnies and has one of the most extensive reserves of cask aged Port wines.

About the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust:
The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust – providing research-led conservation for a thriving countryside. The GWCT is an independent wildlife conservation charity which has carried out scientific research into Britain’s game and wildlife since the 1930s. We advise farmers and landowners on improving wildlife habitats. We employ more than 60 post-doctoral scientists and other research staff with expertise in areas such as birds, insects, mammals, farming, fish and statistics. We undertake our own research as well as projects funded by contract and grant-aid from Government and private bodies. The Trust also has a dedicated professional advisory service to make sure that the results of its research are easily available to farmers, landowners, gamekeepers, and others delivering practical conservation.
About The Secret Bottle Shop:
Secret Bottle Shop are an independent Wine & Spirits Business based in Herefordshire. We are a family run business and have been in the licensed trade for nearly 300 years. The current generation has literally grown up in the trade, giving us considerable knowledge of brands, products and, of course, buying and selling Wine, Champagne and Spirits. We offer unique and exclusive products that suit everyone and everything. We are constantly updating our products, always on the lookout for something a little different that may not be available elsewhere and we have become expert in sourcing quality, unique and rare products - often directly from the suppliers. Time, interest and extensive research (and, of course, sampling) has led us to create a collection that has no end in sight.
