Minister announces end to pesticide disposal scheme

The Minister for Environment, Dr Aileen McLeod, has announced that the free pesticide disposal scheme will come to an end on 29 May.

The pesticides disposal scheme allows those who know, or suspect they are in possession of certain pesticides that are illegal to dispose of them safely and confidentially.

So far, more than 80 requests for collection and disposal have already been accepted through the scheme. The GWCT would urge all land managers to check out buildings or sheds were banned pesticides could be lurking and to make full use of the scheme before it closes at the end of May. The details of the scheme and contact can be found here.
