EDWARD Leigh-Pemberton said he was ‘surprised’ and ‘delighted’ when he found out he was the winner of the 2018 Gun Draw.
Mr Leigh-Pemberton’s name was drawn from a raffle containing 2,500 tickets to win a prize worth £25,000.
The package includes a day’s driven grouse shooting, a new pair of 12-bore shotguns, three-hour fitting session and 500 game cartridges.
“I’ve been buying tickets for years and never thought I’d win,” said Mr Leigh-Pemberton, who lives near Faringdon, Oxfordshire.
“It was such a great feeling to receive a phone call – days before Christmas – informing me I had won. Buying tickets is such an easy way for everyone to support the excellent GWCT and I’d recommend to everyone to take part.
“It really is one of the greatest prizes in fieldsports so I am both surprised and delighted to win it.”
Fellow winners Mark Deacon and Jack London have described it as a once-in-a-lifetime prize to win.
