World-class shooting grounds West London Shooting School and multi-award-winning country sports group Sportarm have teamed up with the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust to host the GWCT Summer Clay Day on Thursday 9 September 2021.

Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust and the Merlin Magic project has been awarded a grant from the Government’s £40 million second round of the Green Recovery Challenge Fund, a multi-million pound boost for green jobs and nature recovery.

Nine leading UK rural organisations (including the GWCT as scientific advisers) have announced the launch of a formal partnership to promote the multitude of conservation and community benefits that make the countryside a better place for all to enjoy.

On 10 and 11 July, 36-year-old Harry Townshend ran 100 miles around Dorset, in one go, raising nearly £32,000 for the GWCT. That is the equivalent of running from Bournemouth to London, or powering through almost four marathons, one after another.

A passion for the “wonderful scenery and biodiversity” of the British countryside enjoyed while indulging his “running obsession” has led Harry Townshend to attempt to run 100 miles of Dorset footpath, in one go, this weekend.
