Newcomers to the sport of clay pigeon shooting will find Barbury Shooting School the ideal venue to make a successful start in the sport. In particular, we ensure that every newcomer receives a full and thorough grounding in all aspects of gun safety and shooting etiquette as well as coaching geared to their individual pace of learning.

Barbury offers a membership program for regular clay shooters. For an annual fee you get a free 1 hour lesson for an individual or a shared lesson for a couple. Additional lessons are charged at a reduced rate.

Members also get reduced rates on practice sessions and other events and offers throughout the year.

The objective of the membership is to provide you and your guests with a year round facility in a private, pleasant and friendly environment.

Barbury Shooting School bSimulated Game Days

Simulated Game Shooting replicates every aspect of game shooting and is an excellent form of Corporate Hospitality or perfect for a party of friends to get together and have some fun. It also offers an ideal introduction to newcomers to game shooting.

Simulated days are suitable for more experienced shots. However less experienced shots and novices can be accommodated when accompanied by an instructor.

The day is organized in the same way as a traditional game shoot with the added enjoyment of shooting during the summer months in some beautiful Wiltshire countryside. The day starts at either the local pub or the main house for breakfast and briefing before shooting a number of drives, with two guns per peg each taking it in turns to shoot and load. The targets will simulate driven Pheasants, Partridge and Pigeon.

However the targets can easily be tailored to suit your requirements, taking into account the experience of the team of guns.

Individual guns welcome on specific dates or contact us for availability and to book.
