Who Wants to be a Conservationaire?

Do you know a lot about Shooting and Conservation?

If so, why not put your ‘knowledge’ to the ultimate test in a Who Wants to be a Conservationaire quiz at this year’s Game Fair.

Charlie Jacoby, host of Fieldsports Channel TV, will be the Game Fair’s version of ITV’s Jeremy Clarkson, by asking each contestant a series of multiple-choice questions.

There will be the usual ask the audience, phone a friend and 50/50  throughout the 10-15 questions. Some of these will include;

When threatened, pheasants can produce a sudden burst of power to lift them off the ground. For around how long does their burst of power last?

When the GWCT studied 34 farms, how many more farmland birds did we find on farms with a shoot?

The availability of insects on farms is critical to the survival of wild grey partridge chicks. How many insects do they eat?

Whoever manages to get them all right will be rewarded with a prize.

Currently, there are four not-to-be missed shows taking part in the Carter Jonas Game Fair Theatre on Saturday (July 28th) at 11am and 3.30pm and Sunday (July 29th) at 12pm and 2.30pm.

Anyone wishing to take part should contact communications officer Joel Holt on jholt@gwct.org.uk on 01425 651000. Places are on a first-come-first-served basis.

Questions from the quiz are based on the GWCT’s latest publication, The Knowledge, and are part of our Accredited Game Shot quiz, which will be launching soon.

We’ll be sending the lucky contestants a copy of the book in advance of the quiz.
