We are once again joining forces with the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) to showcase the important role farmers play when it comes to looking after farmland birds.

GWCT wales have teamed up with farmers across the country to bring you our Big Farmland Bird Count Training days.

A fantastic effort from farmers across the UK has helped secure a best-ever year for the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust’s (GWCT) Big Farmland Bird Count (BFBC).

NFU President Minette Batters and GWCT’s long-serving biodiversity advisor Pete Thompson braved StormErik to go bird-spotting on the first day of the 2019 Big Farmland Bird Count (BFBC).

We recognise the issues raised in the State of Nature Report and we firmly believe that the solution lies in helping farmers to deliver a better environment alongside profitable businesses. We shouldn’t forget that there is a considerable amount of good work already being done, and we need to help farmers build on this.
