Hundreds of farmers, landowners and gamekeepers have been taking part in this year’s Big Farmland Bird Count (BFBC).
Yellowhammer, skylark, lapwing, bulfinch and grey partridge were among the iconic birds spotted by birdwatchers during the count, which ran from February 9th to 18th.
Organiser Jim Egan has been promoting the fifth count by reaching out to more than 5 million people through a series of regional radio interviews, as well as being quoted in 100-plus publications.
