Farmer Lindsay Marshall had religiously bought raffle tickets from the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) each year for more than 30 years but it rarely occurred to him that he might actually win one of their fabulous prizes.
So when he received a phone call from the GWCT Grand Grouse Draw organiser Hugo Straker last December telling him he had won for himself and eight friends a day’s driven grouse shooting on Scotland’s fine Garrogie estate with all associated accommodation and hospitality, he took some convincing that this wasn’t someone playing a trick.
The resulting prize was an experience the winner (and his lucky chosen friends) would never forget. Warm hospitality, good food, breathtaking scenery, excellent sport and happy faces were all part of the deal.
The Draw is held annually and this is now your chance to win a day’s driven grouse shooting for nine guns during the 2015 season on Clune and Corrybrough Estate in the majestic Monadhliath Mountains of Inverness-shire. The prize also includes bed and breakfast for one night at The Steadings at The Grouse and Trout, with lunch and tea on the day.
Not only is this a rare chance to win the ultimate sporting challenge, but the opportunity to experience driven grouse in its purest and most rewarding form. The prize is to be taken during the 2015 grouse shooting season, depending on July 2015 grouse counts and by prior arrangement with the Estate.
“It always gives me huge pleasure each year to offer this unique chance to participate in the holy grail of driven game shooting,” said Hugo.
“It is massively exciting for the winner - and his or her companions - and the proceeds provide immense support for GWCT activities. This year’s draw concludes on 10 December so this is now everyone’s final chance to buy tickets!”
Tickets cost £2 each – available in books of 20. The draw will take place on 10 December 2014. Proceeds of this draw will support the work of the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust, whose aim is for a thriving countryside rich in game and other wildlife.
