Birds

Songbirds

The last 50 years have seen widespread population declines of many of our farmland songbird species - we are working hard to find solutions.

Waders

Many wading birds are suffering declines and our research focuses on many species, including Eurasian woodcock, common snipe and Northern lapwing.

Ducks, geese and swans

Management of some species can be challenging as they breed outside the UK and Europe. Their management therefore has to be subject to international agreement.

Raptors

Our work aims to resolve one of the most divisive issues in the uplands in a way that will benefit hen harriers, grouse and the habitat they share.
